Harraka – Wauters Motorsports Off to the Corn Husker State

Paulie Harraka and Wauters Motorsports head west to America’s heartland, for the running of the American Ethanol 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Iowa Speedway Saturday, July 14, 2012.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie driver, Paulie Harraka, has three previous starts at Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West division.   Harraka’s best finish was in 2009 where he scored a second-place finish.

“I’m really looking forward to heading to Iowa,” Paulie Harraka said. “This will be the first track we go to that I have actually raced on before. It’s a place I really enjoy racing at, and have run well at. We are building positive momentum inside our team, and Iowa will be a great opportunity to keep doing that.”

Team owner, Richie Wauters, has two starts at the 7/8-mile track just outside Des Moines, Iowa with Brian Ickler and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, Aric Almirola.

“Iowa is one of the easiest tracks to adjust to,” Richie Wauters said.  “Only the bump in the middle of turns one and two is what you need to get used to at Iowa Speedway. We are going to a track that Paulie has actually raced at in the K&N West Series and it should give him some advantage on learning the lines that the trucks run there”.

Wauters Motorsports will debut a new No. 5 Ford F150 chassis at Iowa Speedway.

The team will be missing one member this weekend in Iowa.  Super Late Model driver and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series crew member, Spencer Wauters, son of team owner Richie Wauters, was injured in a freak accident with a firework July 4th. Spencer is recovering from extensive hand surgery at home. The No. 5 Wauters Motorsports Ford will adorn a decal wishing Spencer a speedy recovery.
