ThorSport Racing is excited to announce that Cam Waters, Australia’s most versatile racer, will make his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut at Martinsville Speedway on April 5th, 2024. Waters will be behind the wheel of the No. 66 TRADIE Ford Performance F-150 for the race at Martinsville, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Cam Waters, a native of Australia, began his racing journey at the age of seven, quickly making a name for himself by winning major karting titles. Waters is the only driver to have won both the Australian Formula Ford Championship and the Supercars Development Series. He has also secured three consecutive podium finishes at the Bathurst 1000, two second place finishes in the Australian Supercars Championship, and has been recognized as the ‘Driver’s Driver’ in 2020 and 2022, along with winning the Mike Kable award.
Joining ThorSport Racing, the longest-operating team in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Waters brings a wealth of experience and an impressive track record from his time with Tickford Racing in Melbourne. Since his full-time professional debut in 2016, Waters has accumulated 11 wins, 47 podium finishes, and 23 career pole positions.
ThorSport Racing, established in 1996 and based in a state-of-the-art facility in Sandusky, Ohio, is proud to welcome Cam Waters to its lineup. The team looks forward to continuing its tradition of fostering talent and achieving competitive excellence in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.
TRADIE, the sponsor of Waters’ No. 66 Ford Performance F-150, is known for adding fun, humanity, and personality to the market since its founding in 2010. Starting as an underwear line, TRADIE has expanded to offer a wide range of products for the entire family, embodying adventure, the great outdoors, curiosity, and confidence.
“I am so proud to be taking a major Australian brand, and a growing company who support so many different sports, into the international motorsport arena via this partnership and really want to put on a good show during my maiden outing in the NASCAR Trucks program. To have TRADIE backing my USA racing exploits gives the whole program a huge lift in profile and one that has resonated really strongly within the ThorSport Racing operation.”
