SS Green Light Racing on a Roll Heading to Pocono

David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team come off their first podium finish of 2011 on the heels of three straight top-ten finishes giving them positive momentum as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns for it’s sophomore season at the Pocono Raceway.

Starr and the team hope that momentum will keep the streak of strong finishes alive Saturday afternoon in the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125. ASI Limited will once again be on the hood of the No.81 Toyota with associate support from Zachry.

“It seems at the start of the year we struggled a lot. But my engineer and my crew chief stumbled upon something about five races ago; we are always trying to enhance out set-ups and make our trucks better but sometimes when you are doing that you get off-track and it’s hard to get back on-track,” Starr said. “But we figured it out and it seems like the last four or five races we’ve been really running strong and finished third last weekend. We’re trying to get our team to where we’re a top-five, top-six seven team week in and week out. We still have a lot of work to do but we’re gaining on it.”

“We’re excited about going to Pocono because have a lot of momentum.”

In the NCWTS inaugural race at the “Tricky Triangle” Starr finished thirteenth after contact with another truck caused damage to his Toyota and cost several positions on track. Starr is looking forward to returning to the triangle. “Pocono is a cool racetrack with a lot of history, it’s truly a unique track with its three corners and long straights. Last year was the first time the truck series ran there and it was a learning experience. I think we can take what we learned last year and add to it the things we’ve been doing with our trucks over the last few races and that should help us to get another good finish this week. ”

“The entire SS Green Light organization is excited with all the momentum we have built up over the last few races and we feel we have the opportunity to get another great finish for our ASI Limited/Zachry Toyota.”

David completed all of the laps in the last years NCWTS Pocono Mountains 125 at the Pocono Raceway. Starting fifteenth and finishing thirteenth in the NCWTS only visit to the 2.5-mile track.

The Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125 is the 259th consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 279th career start for Starr in the Truck Series. David has four victories, 46 top-fives and 113 top-tens through his 14-year career including one top-five and six top-tens this season.
