Ryan Blaney (@RyanBlaney22), driver of the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150, made his second career start at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday afternoon.
When the first caution came out on lap 7, Blaney was directed by crew chief, Doug Randolph, to bring his Cooper Standard Ford to pit road for a fuel only stop.
When the race resumed, Blaney connected with teammate Ross Chastain to position Brad Keselowski Racing one-two at lap 32.
Blaney held his position towards the front of the field until his line slowed on the backstretch and he was wrecked by a driver behind him.
The Cooper Standard team was able to get Blaney back out on the track and home to a 21st place finish.
The No. 29 BKR team currently sits seventh in the NCWTS driver points standings, 104 points back from first.
“What a disappointing afternoon for all of the Cooper Standard guys. We had a very good Truck, but not being able to battle for the lead was disappointing. I wish Martinsville was tomorrow, ready to get there.” – Ryan Blaney
