Riggs, RBR back on track at Charlotte

After sitting out the last two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) events, Scott Riggs is excited about his return behind the wheel of the Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) Enterprises No. 92 BTS Tire and Wheel Distributors/Goodyear fleetHQ/QMI Chevrolet at Charlotte in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

“We are looking for good things at Charlotte,” said Riggs. “Our finishes this year haven’t been an indication of how good this team is and how good we can be.”

Engine woes at Daytona and Martinsville derailed good runs for Riggs in the truck. Clay Rogers filled in for Riggs at Rockingham and saw a good start to the race negated by an untimely caution.

The team did not make the trip to Kansas Speedway for the NCWTS event last month.

“We have great equipment and a great group of guys getting these trucks ready to come race,” said Riggs. “to many parts and pieces are coming together for us not to put together some good runs and strong finishes.”

Team owner Ricky Benton shares his driver’s enthusiasm for the Charlotte race.

“It’s great to be going back to the track after a month off,” said Benton. “The truck will have some new partners on board this week and I’m sure we will do them proud.”

Long-time partner QMI returns to the truck as an associate sponsor this week for the first time this year. The truck will also be carrying the logo of Davis Wholesale Tire Company of Kinston, N.C.

“Reuben (Davis) and Davis Wholesale Tire have been a great partner with BTS for a whole long time and it’s an honor to have them on the truck for one of our biggest events of the year,” said Benton.
