ModSpace to Race with Gilliland at “New” Pocono

It’s always nice to stay close to home. That is exactly what Front Row Motorsports sponsor, Berwyn, Pa.-based ModSpace, will be doing this weekend.  The company will be on the hood and sides of the No. 38 Ford driven by David Gilliland this weekend at the Pocono Raceway.

Gilliland welcomes the company back on the car after a 26th-place finish the last time ModSpace was on the car two weeks ago at Charlotte.  The team ran strong all night in one of NASCAR’s toughest races.

Now, Gilliland and the ModSpace team face a new challenge.  The newly-paved Pocono Raceway.  They will leave early this week to test with the rest of the Sprint Cup Series on Wednesday and Thursday before their normal race weekend begins.

“ModSpace is proud that the No. 38 will be carrying our brand this weekend,” stated William Mann vice president of Motorsports for ModSpace. “Being the primary sponsor at this race is exciting for us because our corporate headquarters are not far from this track and we have several branches offices and service centers in close proximity as well. We will all be cheering David on this weekend and hope to see the team in Victory Lane.”

Comments from ModSpace Driver David Gilliland Heading to Pocono:

“After Dover, we will take any luck we can get.  And with ModSpace on our car this weekend, I feel better already.  We had a good run with them on the car at Charlotte and now we’re looking for a top-20 or top-15 at Pocono.

“Looking at our finishes, we had an ‘OK’ race at Darlington, but were close to a top-25.  Same at Charlotte.  Dover was a disappointment, but we should be able to race strong at Pocono.  If we can keep getting a few more top-25 finishes, we’ll start moving up in points to where we should be

“The track this weekend is new, but it’s like we’re taking a vacation up there.  We will be there for five days with testing, practice, qualifying and then the actual race. Hopefully by the end of Sunday everyone will know what this new track is like.  It’s going to be different, but I think we’ll get a handle on it and hopefully have a good race.”
