Scorpion and Al’s Liner on No. 34 This Weekend

David Ragan will once again carry the scheme of Al’s Liner and Scorpion Protective Coatings this weekend during the Coca-Cola 600 at the 1.5-mile Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.  The company has been impressed with Ragan and Front Row Motorsports in 2012 and has increased its presence with the team since debuting in Daytona.

Cloverdale, Ind.-based Scorpion was launched in 1996, producing protective liners, window films and coatings.  Scorpion boasts a highly durable, completely UV-stable truck bed liner that can be customized to fit any purpose and also offers premium films for automotive, commercial-residential, and paint protection films. In 2008, the company launched Al’s Liner, a professional-grade line of products designed for the do-it-yourself automotive community.

In addition to Scorpion, Ragan will also host Craig Krenzel, quarterback of the 2002 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes.  Krenzel is now a principal with Arthur, Krenzel, Lett Insurance Group, which will be an associate sponsor on the car this weekend.

Ragan knows what it’s like to run up front in the Coca-Cola 600.  He finished second in the event one year ago.

Comments from Scorpion Driver David Ragan Heading to Charlotte:

“Everyone enjoys Charlotte and the two weekends we spend here in May.  The All-Star race and the Coca-Cola 600 are two really special events.  Front Row Motorsports enjoyed their first All-Star Race last weekend and now our attention is all on the ‘600’ this weekend.  We learned a whole bunch on Saturday night that we think will help us this weekend.

“This race is just so big.  It’s not the Daytona 500, but it’s probably not too far behind.  The Brickyard is still big, as is the Southern 500, but the Coca-Cola 600 is probably bigger than those right now. It’s just a race full of tradition and it’s so unique.  I love being a part of it

“And, thi.s weekend we’ll get to share that excitement with the guys from Scorpion and Al’s Liner.  They have been cool to work with so far this year.  They have helped move our team forward and I appreciate them for that.  We’re also going to have Arthur, Krenzel, Lett Insurance Group on the car this weekend. Craig Krenzel is a former quarterback from Ohio State.  He has played under the big lights and understands what it means to be in the spotlight. It’ll be fun to watch him see this crowd here on Sunday and what he thinks about this great Charlotte atmosphere on race day.”
