Today Pocono Raceway and NASCAR announced their tentative schedule for the 2020 doubleheader weekend. The current plan is to start the long weekend with ARCA racing on Thursday for the first of 5 events over the next 4 days. Each series will only get one practice, and qualifying session.

The MENCS will have their first of two 350 mile races after the trucks race on Saturday, and their second after the Xfinity series on Sunday.

The most intriguing detail of the inaugural double header will be the starting lineup for the second MENCS race being set by inverting the lead lap finishers from the first race.

While Nascar insisted that details are subject to change as they put together this endeavour the announcement was conveyed with confidence and optimism regarding the progress of planning.

The track will maintain current ticket prices, which include children under 12 free, and a weather guarantee. Camping will be expanded along with facilities as needed. Renewal of tickets and camping will be handled based on seniority, with priority given to fans that have held event tickets the longest. It does seem that the most ominous concern, which will need to be addressed, is how the weekend proceeds given inclement weather.

NASCAR also suggested that a successful weekend could lead to more double headers in the future.

As for the MENCS teams they will use the same car and have to pass a pre-race inspection prior to both events. The teams will have an advantage of working on the cars between events, although what they can change is yet to be determined. The backup car policy will be treated the same as it is now.

Here is the tentative schedule below.
