After collecting over 8,000 books and donating them to children’s homes supported by the Kyle Busch Foundation last year, 13-year old Lexie Ziolkowski decided that she wanted to do something more to help support her favorite driver’s charity this season. Ziolkowski has pledged to donate a $5 gift card to the foundation for every win that Kyle Busch gets in any of NASCAR’s top three series during 2011. All gift cards collected through the challenge will be donated to children’s homes supported by the Kyle Busch Foundation in an effort to make the Holiday Season brighter for children living in the homes.
The first fans to accept Lexie’s challenge were Ziolkowski’s parents, who are matching their daughter’s pledge of a $5 gift card for every Busch win this season. Lexie’s Challenge!
My name is Lexie Ziolkowski, I am thirteen years old, and I am a HUGE Kyle Busch fan. I think Kyle Busch has the best most passionate fans in all of NASCAR, and I think it’s time to prove it! A great fan supports his (or her) driver in all he does on and off the track. Kyle has a great charity, the Kyle Busch Foundation, which helps provide for children ages 5-18 in group homes across the country. Last year I worked to collect 8,018 children’s books which were distributed to many kids in need through the Foundation. In talking with the people at the Foundation, I learned that there are many other needs that these group homes have. One of the things on their wish list, especially when the holidays roll around, is gift cards to retail stores, restaurants and fuel stations.
I want to help Kyle turn his on-track successes into support for his wonderful foundation. To do this, I have pledged to donate a $5.00 gift card (paid for out of my allowance money) to the Foundation for every win that he gets in any of the three NASCAR series during the 2011 season. My parents have agreed to match me dollar for dollar, and with the way Kyle drives, that should amount to a nice little pile of gift cards going to those homes just in time for the 2011 holiday season. My challenge to fellow Kyle Busch fans is this: I want all of you to pledge an amount, any amount, a dollar, five dollars, ten dollars, and every time Kyle wins, use that to buy a gift card to the store of your choice and send it directly to his foundation at the end of the season. Even if it is just $1 per win, imagine how many gift cards that would be for his foundation’s homes at the end of the season if all of his fans were to do this.
