Third Time’s a Charm for Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and Tommy Baldwin Racing

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet will extend their partnership with Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) to support the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) team at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). Dave Blaney will pilot the No. 36 Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Chevrolet as he attempts to clinch a spot in the Kobalt Tools 400.

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, one of America’s largest retailers of closeouts, salvage and surplus merchandise, joined TBR for the 54th running of the Daytona 500 and returned to the No. 36 Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Chevrolet for the Subway Fresh Fit 500. Due to customer support and good exposure in Daytona and Phoenix, the Pennsylvania-based company expanded their program with TBR to include the Kobalt Tools 400 at LVMS.

“We’re excited to be Vegas-bound,” said Ollie’s Bargain Outlet President and CEO Mark Butler. “Our No. 36 Ollie’s car has had two great weeks, and Blaney has raced hard. We had the opportunity to add a third week to our sponsorship, and we’re glad to do it. TBR is a great team, and we’re happy to support them.”

Blaney piloted the No. 36 Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Chevrolet to a 15-place finish at Daytona and a 23rd-place finish at Phoenix to capture the 16th position in NSCS Owner Points. The Hartford, Ohio native qualified for both events and ran steady in the top-25 most of the day. The No. 36 team looks to keep up the steady performances to lock the team into the top-35 in 2012 NSCS Owner Points by Martinsville Speedway when the top-35 in 2012 points will be locked into each race.

“We are thrilled to have Ollie’s Bargain Outlet come back on board,” said Tommy Baldwin. “They have been a great partner this year. We work very hard to make our partnerships beneficial to everyone, and I feel we have done that with Ollie’s. They have stepped up and helped us get the No. 36 on track the first three weeks of the year, and we have performed well to get them exposure.”
