Andy Lally has announced he will leave NASCAR

He started racing competitively in 1996 and now, Andy Lally has finished 33rd in the standings of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup. He ended with 398 points and the other closest rookie to him was Brian Keselowski, finishing 50th. Lally was the Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year in 2011, but he has now announced that he is leaving TRG Motorsports #71. He is also not planning on racing full-time in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup and as a result of this decision, he did not take part in the last Sprint Cup race of the season in Homestead. Lally said that he had made an agreement with TRG Motorsports, and that agreement was not completely adhered to.

He pulled out of Homestead as a matter of principle, however he has commented on the positive side to his time with TRG. While many people take part in other hobbies such as playing tennis or poker on OnlinePoker.com , those who are into car racing are lucky to be a part of TRG. Lally has said that it has been very good for his career, and that the people at TRG Motorsports provided him with great opportunities and friendships.

Lally has now announced his racing plans for 2012. He will be teaming up with Magnus Racing in the #44 Porsche to race full-time, and will be partnering car owner John Potter in the #44 Rolex 24 at Daytona. As well as this, Lally has said that he will be racing a partial schedule for Magnus Racing in the American Le Mans series. He is also considering the possibility of racing a partial schedule in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series, as well as the Grand American Rolex Series. He is likely to do well here, having been the Rolex Grand Am Champion in 2001, 2004 and 2006.
