Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing is riding a hot streak of three consecutive top-10 NASCAR Sprint Cup finishes and a third place in the Sprint Showdown into this weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 and rookie driver Ryan Blaney has hopes of returning the Wood Brothers’ iconic No. 21 Ford back to prominence at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The ninth-place finish at Talladega, fifth at Kansas and eighth at Dover has Blaney in 15th place in the points standings and back in the hunt for the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The Sunoco NASCAR Rookie of the Year race continues hot and heavy with Chase Elliott leading Blaney by 28 points.
“This has been a decent last few races for this team. We just need to keep stringing together these strong runs and it will benefit us. The Wood Brothers have been very strong at Charlotte. It’s been cool to learn their history there. We will try to keep it up.”
