Team Chevy Racing Display Visits Daytona International Speedway

Race fans visiting Daytona International Speedway for SpeedWeeks and the season-opening Daytona 500 will have the opportunity to experience the Team Chevy Racing Display, filled with show cars, production vehicles, GM Performance Parts crate engines, parts and accessories, and participate in question-and-answer sessions with five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson, 2010 Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Juan Pablo Montoya, Kevin Harvick and more.

“Racing is a very important part of Chevy’s long history, and sharing that heritage with our fans is very important to us,” said Jeff Chew, Marketing Manager-NASCAR, Chevy Racing. “We are coming off of another phenomenally successful season, and are very happy to be rolling out the all-new Team Chevy racing Display for the 2011 season. This year we’ve added even more elements, like the latest GM Performance Parts crate engines and an assortment of GM accessories and performance parts for fans to purchase from their local Chevy dealer and install on their own vehicles. Plus, there are interactive games and other activities for fans of all ages.”

The Team Chevy Racing Display — where fans can see and learn about Chevrolet vehicles like the Volt, Camaro convertible, Cruze, Corvette Z06, Silverado HD and many more – will be located in the Midway, south of International Speedway Blvd., near the main tunnel, and will be open from 12-7 p.m. on Friday, February 11; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, February 12; and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, February 13; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16; 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Thursday, February 17; 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, February 18; 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 19; and 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, February 20.

Fans who sign up with Team Chevy will receive a “Team Chevy 34 Manufacturers’ Championships” commemorative t-shirt.

3:35 p.m.          Paul Menard, driver of the No. 27 Menard’s Chevrolet

Team Chevy drivers Austin Dillon and Joey Coulter will participate in a question-and-answer session at 12:30 p.m., and then will be joined by Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday, Nelson Piquet Jr., T.J. Bell, James Buescher, Jeffrey Earnhardt and Brad Sweet for a Team Chevy Autograph Session at 1 p.m.
