Robby Gordon Watkins Glen International Preview

Recognized as a key competitor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road course races, Robby Gordon is looking at Watkins Glen as a chance to get the No. 7 SPEED Energy team back in the top 35 in owner points.   Gordon, who made his first career start at Watkins Glen International in 1997, has recorded 1 win and 7 top 5 finishes at the 2.45 mile road course.  Long time road racer, PJ Jones, will be piloting the No. 77 SPEED Energy Dodge Charger in Robby Gordon Motorsports’ effort to field two cars in Sunday’s race at the Glen.

“Watkins Glen is a big weekend for us.  We didn’t get the result we hoped for at Sonoma and I think I’m better at Watkins.  We built a brand new race car…the guys have been burning the midnight oil and putting a lot of effort into our road-course program.  I’m looking forward to hitting the track this weekend and getting the best result we can,” says Gordon.

Robby Gordon will be sampling SPEED Energy and signing autographs on Aug. 13th at GNC at 3300 Chambers Road in Horseheads, NY from 5pm-6pm.  You can also catch him at the Robby Gordon Motorsports/SPEED Energy souvenir trailer on Sunday, Aug. 14th from 9am-10am and the Sprint Experience at 11:25am.
