NCS: Kyle Larson on the pole for Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway

With a change back to night racing at Richmond Raceway for both events on the 2024 calendar, one thing didn’t change with an early practice and qualifying session, Kyle Larson would best the field in practice over Joey Logano with Ross Chastain the slowest in the session.

Larson would carry over that fast time from practice to qualifying on the pole with a time of 22.438 seconds, 120.332 mph over teammate Chase Elliott.

Prior to practice and qualifying Larson would state the difficulty of the track saying “Honestly, here at Richmond and Martinsville are probably both up there, which is surprising that I’ve won a couple Cup races here and a Cup race at Martinsville, just because they are so difficult on me.”

Chastain would bounce back after the slowest car in practice to take the third position followed by Bowman and Wallace rounding out the top-five.

Perennial favorites to win tomorrow night’s event, Denny Hamlin would qualify in the 11th spot with Kyle Larson taking the 15th spot.

The Toyota Owners 400 is set to roll over just past 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
