NASCAR made the decision to let teams have a one hour practice session that would begin at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. The session would be combined with drivers from tonight’s All-Star Open and All-Star Race.
Kyle Larson would lead the combined All-Star final practice at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Driver NO. 42 ran a lap time of 31.159 with a speed of 173.255 mph. The Elk Grove, California native will start from the sixteenth position Saturday night.
Rounding out the top five were Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola and Daniel Suarez.
Daniel Suarez would lead the field of All-Star Open drivers with a lap of 31.276 and a speed of 172.656 mph.
Pole sitter Matt Kenseth was 20th fastest.
Tonight’s All-Star Open coverage is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. Eastern on Fox Sports 1. Four drivers from the All-Star Open will transfer into the All-Star Race; Stage 1 winner, Stage 2 winner, Stage 3 winner and fan vote.
All-Star Race coverage begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Fox Sports 1.
