Brett Moffitt Earns Eighth-Place Finish at New Hampshire

The opening round of the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase format began with an eighth-place finish for Brett Moffitt and the No. 11 Red Horse Racing team at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The 11 team, which has featured five drivers in 2016, including Moffitt, earned a berth in the Owners' Chase by virtue of the Iowan's first-career victory at Michigan International Speedway in August. After advancing to the final round of qualifying, Moffitt took the green flag in the UNOH 175 from the sixth starting spot. Moffitt held his ground inside the top 10 on the first race run, amidst three cautions and subsequent restarts, and came to pit road under a lap 53 yellow. Under that caution, crew chief Scott Zipadelli made a track bar adjustment to aid his driver's tight condition on corner exit to complement two tires and fuel. While running 11th at the end of the race's longest green flag run on lap 104, Moffitt came to put road under yellow for four tires and more chassis changes to aid his balance.  Restarting 16th on the ensuing restart, Moffitt took advantage of every opportunity given to dig his way back into the top 10 by lap 130. As the race's final restart came on lap 137, Moffitt used the outside lane to complete a three-wide pass to take the eighth position, where he would run until the checkered flag. The finish has the No. 11 team fifth on the Chase Grid in the Owners' Championship standings, three points ahead of the cutoff.

Brett Moffitt Quote:
"We really battled all afternoon with the balance and couldn't ever get the tightness out of it. Scott Zipadelli (crew chief) and this No. 11 team really threw everything we had at it today to try to get the truck turning, and gain track position. We never got all the way there, but I'm proud of the effort and appreciate all the work this team has put in. The restarts were so critical today. We were fortunate to gain spots on most of the restarts, because it was hard to make up a whole lot of time under green. The finish wasn't totally what we wanted, but it's a solid start to the Owners' Chase for (owner) Tom DeLoach and these guys on the No. 11."
