Top-10 Finish for Ben Kennedy at Texas Motor Speedway

Ben Kennedy and the No. 11 Local Motors earned a top-10 finish, marking his best result in three career starts at Texas Motor Speedway. The Daytona Beach, Florida native advanced to the third round of qualifying early Friday evening, and claimed the 12th starting position for the seventh race on the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule. Kennedy wrestled with a tight-handling Toyota Tundra early in the 167-lap event, but the Scott Zipadelli-led team was able to make adjustments during routine green and yellow-flag pit stops to improve the balance. Kennedy broke into the top 10 on lap 103, and despite facing challenges such as being hit on pit road by another competitor that caused left-front fender damage, he remained there and took the checkered flag in the 10th position in the WinStar World Casino and Resort 400.

Ben Kennedy Quote:

“We fought hard for this 10th-place finish. Scott (Zipadelli) and the No. 11 guys never gave up. We gained a position in the (driver’s championship) point standings, and we’ll take this momentum and hope to continue moving forward next weekend at Gateway (Motorsports Park).”
