Boston Plans to Bring the Momentum Home to Charlotte
Despite being a few laps shy to go the distance on fuel, Justin Boston still recorded his best career finish of seventh last Friday at Kansas Speedway. It marked the second-consecutive top-10 finish for the rookie and helped him gain another five positions in the driver championship point standings. Over the last two races, Boston has gained 10 spots, moving from 18th all the way up to eighth. Now with the same Tundra he raced last weekend at Kansas, he plans to keep the momentum going at Charlotte.
Although Boston has never raced at Charlotte, he was able to participate in a rookie test at the 1.5-mile oval in early February. The test provided valuable seat time to help him not only become more familiar with the track itself, but also the Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) Tundras since the test occurred before the season started. He won't be the only rookie making his first start at Charlotte, as his KBM teammates Erik Jones and Matt Tifft will also be first-time contenders at the track.
KBM drivers have collected four wins, two poles, 286 laps led, five top-five and five top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 12.1 across 10 starts at Charlotte. Owner-driver Kyle Busch has collected all four of the team's wins at the 1.5-mile oval, including victories the last two seasons.
Boston's Tundra will be sporting new colors this week as ROK Mobile has come on board for the Charlotte race. ROK Mobile, co-founded by entrepreneursJohn Paul DeJoria (Patron Tequila and Paul Mitchell) and JonathanKendrick (British technology pioneer), is a prepaid, contract-free mobile and music service that offers unlimited talk, text, data and streaming music for a monthly cost of $49.99.
