Tyler Reddick Dover Post Race

Tyler Reddick (@TylerReddick), driver of the No. 19 Reese Towpower Ford F-150 scored an impressive eighth place finish in Friday’s Lucas Oil 200 at Dover International Speedway.  Reddick claimed his best career finish in four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts and his first top 10!

Reddick started fifth and comfortably ran inside the top five during the early stages of the 200-lap race.  He made his first pit stop of the race during the fourth caution on lap 77.  Reddick and the team made adjustments to free the truck up just a bit.  He restarted in third place but began to wrestle with a loose handling truck – a handling condition that would challenge the young driver and team throughout much of the remainder of the race.

But Reddick and team gamely fought back.  Despite briefly falling outside the top 10 during the middle stages of the race, Reddick would rally over the final 70 laps.  He made his final pit stop under caution on lap 175, restarting in 10th place for the final 20 lap dash to the finish and was able to pick off two more positions before the checkered flag waved.

Tyler Reddick – No. 19 Reese Towpower Ford F-150:  I had a pretty good day in the Reese Towpower Ford F-150.  We were trying to be the top Sunoco Rookie today and I think we were pretty close.  We had good strength early in the race.  We just have to work on a few things and that’s just part of the learning process and hopefully we can make everything better for Texas.”

YOU WERE REALLY STRONG EARLY IN THE RACE.  “We were very good at the start of the race.  We had that first run there and the truck was a little tight but as I’ve learned at this place, man, if you have a loose truck you have your hands full.  I wanted them to free it up just a little to see if we could get a little more speed out of it and that was my mistake.  We probably went just a little too far and then we had to back up a little bit throughout the rest of the day.  We found out what I like, what was good.  We had a very fast truck, nothing to be upset about.  Even at the end of the race we were pretty fast.  We have a lot of good things going for us, good people behind us, good people supporting us, good people working on our trucks and good people going over the wall making pit stops.  We just have to put a few more things together and we’ll be in great shape for Texas.”
