Ben Kennedy NCWTS Preview: Martinsville Speedway

Heading to the Paperclip...Ben Kennedy will attempt to make his fourth career start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) on Saturday, October 26 at the 0.526-mile Martinsville Speedway. This will be Kennedy's first time on the "paperclip," NASCAR's oldest track.

Kennedy's No. 30 truck entry is not locked in on owner's points and he will have to qualify his way into the race on time.

This Week's Silverado...This weekend, the No. 30 Turner Scott Motorsports team will unload chassis TSM-230 at Martinsville. The chassis was driven by Nelson Piquet Jr. at Martinsville during the first NCWTS race held in April. The same chassis has made two appearances since then, with Kennedy behind the wheel at Bristol and Iowa.

Last Time Out...Making his first career NCWTS start at Chicagoland Speedway on Friday, September 13, Kennedy looked to gain a solid finish and get familiar with the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval in the EnjoyIllinois.com 225. Kennedy and his No. 30 Turner Scott Motorsports team started the day by qualifying 12th at the Chicago suburb track. Kennedy was able to put down consistent laps during the entire race and bring home the Turner Scott Motorsports Silverado with a hard-fought 16th-place finish.

Watch and Listen...The Kroger 200 can be seen live Saturday, October 26 on FOX Sports 1, with coverage beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The race can also be heard live on MRN Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Crew Chief Chris Carrier on Ben Kennedy and Racing at Martinsville:

"This weekend at Martinsville will be Ben's first time at the half-mile short track. We have an agenda set and will be very methodical this weekend. The key to Martinsville is to save the brakes and set the car up to be able to roll through the corners well. Overall, the goal this weekend is to learn as much as we can and come home with the best finish possible. I think if we stay patient and work hard, we can accomplish all of our goals this weekend."

Ben Kennedy on Racing at Martinsville Speedway:

"Martinsville [Speedway] is another new track for me. We have two practice sessions on Friday morning, which will be good to get some laps under my belt and start learning my way around the track. I'm going to lean on my teammates a lot for information, especially since this will be their second time at Martinsville this year. I'm looking forward to getting on the track this weekend, learning a lot and, hopefully, coming home with a good finish."
