After a dismal weekend north of the border, Joey Coulter would like nothing more than to rebound from last Sunday's 26th-place finish in the Inaugural Truck Series event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and harvest another solid finish at Iowa Speedway in Newton - a track he considers his favorite.

It's been a mere 58 days since the Truck Series last raced in the cornfields of Central Iowa and as one of only three tracks the series visits more than once on the schedule, Coulter and the No. 18 team are looking forward to the repeat event. In the team's last visit to the 7/8-mile tri-oval, Coulter finished ninth after running as high as fourth to score one of his five top-10 finishes of 2013. In fact following the July race at Iowa Speedway, Coulter went on to capture two of his three top-five finishes, at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio (4th) and Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (4th).

The Miami Springs, Fla. native also gained valuable points in the 2013 driver point standings preceding Iowa. In a three race span from Iowa (7/13/13) to Pocono (8/3/13), Coulter was tied with Timothy Peters for the most points gained with 116. Matt Crafton our current series point leader only gained 110 points, while second-place James Buescher gained a mere 90 points and third-place Ty Dillon totaled 82 points. Currently, Coulter is 12th in the championship point standings and a mere nine points separate four driver's from a spot comfortably inside the top 10.

Another solid run at Iowa this weekend will give Coulter and the No. 18 KBM team the boost they need to secure a position inside the top-10 in points with only eight races to go before the fields are plowed over and the 2013 NCWTS season comes to an end.

The return of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) to Iowa Speedway in Newton means the return of 17-year-old Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) driver, Erik Jones. Making his fourth of five scheduled starts in the No. 51 Toyota Care Tundra, the rookie from Byron, Michigan is eager to get back in the field and harvest his first NCWTS victory during the Iowa 200 on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Competing at the Newton, Iowa facility earlier this year, Jones was the talk of the town after battling against series regulars Timothy Peters and Ty Dillon for an impressive second-place finish. Unlike in July, the green flag is set to drop mid-afternoon when the sun is high over the .875-mile oval which is known to create slick track conditions. However, Jones is calm and cool about the situation with his experience in the ARCA Racing Series during the 2012 season.

Since his last visit in the NCWTS, Jones has been busy behind the wheel of a Venturini Motorsports Toyota Camry in the ARCA Racing Series. Appearing first at Pocono Raceway, the "Tricky Triangle" tricked him out of a victory for the second time this year. Leading the majority of the 50-lap race, Jones came to a halt with two laps remaining due to an untimely mechanical issue. Determined to not let another race slip through his fingers, Jones claimed his first ARCA victory a week later in front of a home state crowd at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway.

In three Truck Series starts this season, the teenage hot shoe has yet to finish outside the top 10. He came home ninth in his series debut at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in April and followed it up the following week with another ninth-place finish at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway. After a two-month hiatus, Jones produced his best performance to date - a runner-up finish at Iowa Speedway in Newton. The talented youngster aims to keep his streak alive in Sunday's 200-lap event and hopes to do so by finishing one position better this time around and end the day with his first trip to victory lane.

Concluding the Fan Appreciation 200 presented by New Holland on Sunday, Jones will appear once more in the NCWTS during the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix (Az.) International Raceway on Friday, Nov. 8.

The winner of Iowa Speedway's inaugural ARCA event in 2006, Steve Wallace (No. 97 Adrian Carriers / Liz Girl Logistics Chevrolet) will look to add to his Hawkeye State success this weekend, in Iowa Speedway's 200-lap event for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The event will mark his second start for Quad Cities, Iowa-based Adrian Carriers Racing. The first truck start of the year for both Wallace and the Gary and Liz Adrian-owned team came earlier this year at Iowa. In that event, Wallace started 26th and stayed out of trouble to earn a 17th-place finish for the upstart truck operation.

This time around however, Adrian has made an additional investment in the team's performance. Wallace will be piloting a former Ty Dillon-driven truck--newly acquired from Richard Childress Racing--in the Iowa event.

Noted Wallace, "I'm looking forward to this weekend's race at Iowa. Gary and Liz Adrian really enjoy racing; they have a lot of experience with various forms of it. We all wanted to get better after our first race and we were able to get a truck from RCR. It's a really nice piece and I'm very grateful to those guys for helping us. We picked it up just last week and a couple of us have worked day and night in North Carolina to get it ready for Iowa.

"So, putting it all together, we should have a lot faster truck this time, I'll have more experience working with the Adrian Carriers team and I've also heard that Nick Carlson (No. 97 crew chief) and his guys have made some improvements on the pit crew front as well. Hopefully, all of this means that we'll be able to put together a good run for the Adrian Carriers / Liz Girl Logistics team this weekend in their hometown race."

Kurt Busch and the single-car Furniture Row Racing team are on the cusp of a history-making feat heading into Saturday night’s Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway.

The Federated Auto Parts 400 at the 0.75-mile Virginia short track is the final event before the 12-driver Chase field is set for the ensuing 10-race playoffs that will determine the 2013 Sprint Cup Series champion.

Following his fourth-place finish in Sunday night’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Busch moved into 10th place in the driver point standings, the final guaranteed Chase spot before the two-wildcard entries. He is six points ahead of 11th place.

A berth in the Chase, which began in 2004, would give Busch the distinction of being the first driver from a single-car team to qualify for the Chase.

“We’re in position to make history and that’s pretty exciting for everyone associated with Furniture Row Racing,” said Busch, who won the NASCAR championship in the inaugural Chase season. “It's been our goal at Furniture Row Racing from the beginning of the year to make the Chase and we enter the final pre-Chase race controlling our own destiny. We need to get it done on our own Saturday night and not worry about what the other Chase contenders are doing.”

Busch’s rise to the top-10 in driver points is a result of strong performances, including seven top-five and 12 top-10 finishes in the first 25 races of the season.

One of Busch’s top-10s – a ninth-place result -- came in the spring race at Richmond, where he led 36 laps and was running third before the final caution came out with four laps remaining.

“We have good notes from the last Richmond race,” stated Busch, driver of the Denver-based No. 78 Furniture Row/Beautyrest Chevrolet SS. “But it’s a short track and you can get caught up in somebody else’s mess very easily there. It’s a balancing act – we need to protect our car and at the same time battle hard to stay up front.”

Busch has one win, four top-fives and eight top-10s in 25 career starts at Richmond.

“Richmond is a tough track,” noted Busch. “You can punish your tires and then suffer the last 30 laps of a fuel run. It gets into that old tire-management category and not a lot of people see that. If you play it cool for the first 15 laps you'll have better tires for the later part of the run. But then if you're playing it cool on the restart you get swallowed up and slide back and then you have to battle back with those tires. It's a tough balance.”

The Earnhardt name is synonymous with Chevrolet but when Jeffrey Earnhardt had the opportunity to race for a Ford team he looked back to his grandpa’s days and saw the photo of Dale Earnhardt next to the #15 Ford. “My goal is to race full time and eventually compete in Cup” said Jeffrey. “I’ll drive the car the team gives me and do my best to exceed expectations.” So it should be no surprise that his sponsor, Keen Parts, the leading supplier of Corvette restoration parts and accessories shares Jeffrey’s vision. “Jeffrey is a terrific young man and we’re proud to have him representing Corvetteparts.net” said Tom Keen, co‐owner of Keen Parts. “We’d love to see him get the opportunity to drive a Chevy in the future but in Richmond we decided to go with the first hybrid in NASCAR. #FORVETTE is our social media hashtag for the #79 Corvetteparts.net Mustang in the upcoming Virginia 259 College Savings 250 in Richmond this Friday. We want to see Jeffrey on the track so we created our own brand for this race.”

Keen Parts was Jeffrey’s partner that made national headlines earlier in the year when they sponsored Jeffrey’s first race at JR Motorsports. “Tom and TJ have been very supportive of me and I look forward to a great race and a long future together. I’m excited to race and hope everyone will check out Corvetteparts.net” said Jeffrey.

The Virginia 259 College Savings 250 green flag drops at 7:30pm with race coverage on ESPN2, MRN Radio and on Sirius channel 90.

Sharp-Gallaher Racing would like to issue the following statement in response to the penalty assessed by NASCAR to crew chief Brian Berry for the actions of team members, which is inclusive of guests, following the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The team will not be appealing the penalty.

"I'd like to apologize to our sponsors, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and especially the fans on behalf of everyone at Sharp-Gallaher Racing for the incident that occurred following Sunday's race," said team co-owner Eddie Sharp Jr. "Although Kelly Heaphy is not an employee of SGR, we absolutely do not condone actions such as these from anyone associated with our organization. It is a shame that this overshadowed the first class event that NASCAR delivered in Canada. We have nothing but respect for NASCAR, and will not appeal the penalty assessed to crew chief Bryan Berry."

Penalties have been issued to teams in the NASCAR Nationwide and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series following last weekend’s events at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, respectively.

In the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the No. 30 and No. 32 teams have been penalized for violating Sections 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (Any determination by NASCAR Officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to the NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20-A of the NASCAR rule book, or has been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20A-12.8.1(B) (Car failed to meet the minimum front car heights). These infractions were all discovered during post-race inspection Aug. 31.

As a result of these violations, crew chiefs Pat Tryson (No. 30 car) and Trent Owens (No. 32 car) have each been fined $10,000. In addition, drivers Nelson Piquet Jr. (No. 30) and Kyle Larson (No. 32) have been docked with the loss of six championship series driver points. Owner Harry Scott Jr. has been docked with the loss of six championship owner points for each of the two cars (No. 30 & No. 32).

In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Bryan Berry, crew chief of the No. 6 team, has been fined $2,500 for violating Sections 12-1 and 9-4A (Crew chief assumes responsibility for the actions of his team members) following Sunday’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Kelly Heaphy, who was with the No. 6 team at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, has been fined $2,500 and denied access to all NASCAR events indefinitely for her involvement in an altercation with a competitor following Sunday’s race.

Returning to Richmond...The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) returns to Richmond International Raceway (RIR) on Friday, September 6 for the Virginia529 College Savings 250, and Kyle Larson will be making his second NNS start at the 0.75-mile track. Back in April, Larson finished eighth in his NNS debut at the track after qualifying 18th.

Hitting The Target...Last Friday it was announced that in 2014 Larson will be promoted to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), as the 21-year-old takes over the reins of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. In addition to his NSCS Rookie of the Year efforts, Larson will also return to the NNS to compete for Turner Scott Motorsports.

Take A Bite...RIR is the first of two races where Larson's No. 32 will sport a scheme featuring SNICKERS® Bites. SNICKERS® Bites are a new hunger-satisfying innovation introduced earlier this year that offers the trademark SNICKER® combination of chocolate, peanuts, caramel and nougat shrunk down in small, no fuss, "pop 'em in your mouth" milk chocolate cubes. The unwrapped treats are ideal for sharing, whether you're watching a movie, attending a gathering or cheering on the No. 32 as it speeds towards victory lane.  SNICKERS® Bites are available nationwide at club, convenience, drug, grocery, mass, specialty and value stores.

This Week's Camaro...The No. 32 SNICKERS Bites team, lead by crew chief Trent Owens, have prepared chassis TSM-331 for use in Friday night's race at RIR. This marks the fifth time this chassis has been used this season. In its four previous starts, chassis TSM-331 has racked up all top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish in its most recent race at Iowa Speedway last month.

Watch and Listen...The Virginia529 College Savings 250 will be broadcast on ESPN2, with coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Larson will be featured on NASCAR Countdown prior to the start of the race. You can also listen to the race live by tuning in to MRN Radio or SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap...After qualifying 13th for the Great Clips/Grit Chips 300, Larson and the No. 32 Cessna team remained patient throughout the 195-lap race as they worked their way to the front. After solid adjustments and great pit stops all night by his crew, Larson drove to a fifth-place finish in his first NNS race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kyle Larson on Returning to Richmond:

"Last week was definitely a great week, but now I am focused on Richmond. It's always nice when we can go back to a track for a second time, and you really can't beat short-track night-time racing. I think Richmond will be a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do in the SNICKERS Bites Chevy."

Returning to Richmond...The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will make its second and final stop of the 2013 season at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) this weekend. Allgaier has unfinished business at RIR after running in the top 10 all night but coming home in the 31st position in the spring race due to contact with another competitor. Allgaier looks to continue his most recent short-track success from Bristol Motor Speedway where he brought his No. 31 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet home in fourth.

This Week's Camaro...This weekend the No. 31 BRANDT Chevrolet team will utilize chassis TSM-333. TSM-333 has raced six times this season: Phoenix International Raceway (March), Bristol Motor Speedway (March), RIR(April), Iowa Speedway (June, August) and New Hampshire Motor Speedway (July).

Meet Justin...Allgaier will appear at the Chevy stage along with his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) teammates on Friday, September 6 at 1:45 p.m. located in the RIR Fan Zone. Allgaier will also sign autographs at the NNS autograph session on Friday, September 6 from 2-3 p.m. at the amphitheater located behind the frontstretch grandstands.

Recapping Atlanta...The NNS made its one and only stop of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway for a Saturday night, Labor Day weekend race. The weekend began with the first practice session on Friday evening under cloudy conditions. The final practice session of the weekend was held on Saturday morning, before qualifying followed in the afternoon. Allgaier and the Wolf Pack Energy Services team ran a total of 67 laps between the two practice sessions which earned them a qualifying spot of 21st out of 40 cars. Allgaier laid down a lap time of 31.198 seconds, which put him in the 14th-starting spot for the Great Clips/Grit Chips 300. After maintaining a top-15 position all night during the 195-lap race, Allgaier brought his No. 31 Wolf Pack Energy Services Chevrolet Camaro home in the 11th position for TSM.

Crew chief Scott Zipadelli on Richmond International Raceway:

"I'm looking forward to getting back to Richmond [International Raceway]. We will practice in the morning and race at night, so that always presents a little bit of a challenge because of the weather conditions. We were having a great race in the spring and unfortunately got caught in a wreck. Hopefully this time we will be able to stay out of trouble and bring home a great finish."

Justin Allgaier on Richmond International Raceway:

"I'm ready for another night race at Richmond [International Raceway]. Coming off of a top-five finish at Bristol [Motor Speedway] just a couple weeks ago has me excited for Richmond. In the spring race we had a great race going and unfortunately had contact with another car which caused damage and put us several laps down. I'm looking forward to building off of our Bristol finish and bringing home another top-five this weekend."

Atlanta Recap...Making his first career NNS start at a hot and steamy Atlanta Motor Speedway last Saturday night, Piquet Jr. looked to end the summer portion of the NNS schedule on the right foot in the Great Clips/Grit Chips 300. Piquet Jr. and his No. 30 WORX Yard Tools team started the weekend by qualifying 10th at the 1.54-mile oval. Piquet Jr. was able to battle all night and bring home the WORX Yard Tools Chevrolet Camaro with a hard fought 12th-place finish.

Little Testing...Piquet Jr. and his No. 30 team spent all day Tuesday testing at Nashville Superspeedway to continue to improve on their mile-and-a-half program.

Come and See...Piquet Jr. will join his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) teammates at the Chevy Stage on Friday, September 6 for a Q&A session at 1:45 p.m. EDT.  Following the Q&A, Piquet Jr. and his TSM teammates will join other drivers in the NNS autograph session from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT

Watch and Listen...The Virgina529 College Savings 250 can be seen live on Friday, September 6 on ESPN2. Race coverage will begin at 7:00 p.m. EDT. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Nelson Piquet Jr. on Richmond International Raceway:

"I am looking forward to returning to Richmond and racing under the lights on Friday night. We had a pretty good car there in the spring so hopefully we can use those notes and continue to make it better. Richmond has two grooves which makes for some really fun side-by-side racing. The big key for us is finding the right setup with down force and grip; I think if we are able to do this we could have a great night. My guys have worked hard all week so hopefully we can bring the WORX Yard Tools Chevy home with a solid finish."
