NASCAR Names Entertainment Industry Veteran Matt Summers Senior Director Of Entertainment Marketing And Content Development

NASCAR announced today that it has named Matt Summers senior director of entertainment marketing and content development of NASCAR’s Los Angeles, Calif.-based Entertainment Marketing division. In his new role, Summers will be responsible for leading the development, sale and steering of original NASCAR television, film and digital content projects, as well as the development and execution of strategic entertainment partnerships and platforms.

Summers joins NASCAR from Crowfly Pictures Entertainment where he oversaw the development of more than 20 film, television and documentary projects, including John Grisham’s “The Testament” as the senior vice president of development and production. Before his time at Crowfly Pictures Entertainment, Summers served in the same position for 821 Entertainment Group, an award winning Nashville, Tenn., Austin, Texas and Los Angeles, Calif.-based finance and production company. Prior to that, he was the vice president of development and production for the Academy Award-winner Nicolas Cage’s production company, Saturn Films.

Summers’ experience within the entertainment industry spans 13 years. He began his career at the talent and literary agency International Creative Management (ICM) after earning his degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin.
