DJ Michaelis mixing up entertainment lineup during CampingWorld.com 500 weekend

Race weekend entertainment for the CampingWorld.com 500 at Phoenix International Raceway will feature a new spin on driver introductions as world-renowned DJ Michaelis applies his own flair, mixing all music related to the PIR “Like A Boss” marketing campaign.

Famous for deconstructing popular music, DJ Michaelis will put his own twist on the traditional driver introductions. The West Coast DJ holds big room residences in cities around the world including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Moscow and Bali and has new Trap and Progressive House music being released later this month.

Social media sensation Luis Coronel will highlight Friday’s entertainment as he will be performing a concert immediately following the NASCAR Mexico Series Toyota 120 race on Friday, March 13. The Billboard chart topper and DEL Records/Empire Productions artist recently won Univision’s Premios Lo Nuestro Mexican Regional Male Artist of the Year and will entertain fans on the Midway.

Prior to the CampingWorld.com 500 on Sunday, March 15, Grammy-nominated Tonic will also be performing a free concert for any fan with a grandstand ticket. The multi-platinum rock group with six top-10 singles will entertain fans in the midway area at 10:30 a.m. MST.

Race weekend entertainment officially kicks off at the Cantina with Whiskey’s Quicker on Thursday, March 12 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Formed in 2011, the Phoenix-based group is one of the most popular rock cover bands in Arizona and has been a mainstay at Phoenix International Raceway ever since.

Harry Luge, Jr. will hit the Cantina stage on Thursday and Saturday from 9 – 11 p.m., and on Friday from 7 – 8:30 p.m. The Arizona-born singer/songwriter is a favorite on the country music scene throughout the Southwest and has become a regular on the Cantina stage during PIR’s NASCAR weekends since 2005.

Taking the stage on Friday from 9 – 11 p.m. at the Cantina will be DaisyTrain. Featuring some of Arizona’s best and most notable musicians, DaisyTrain will entertain fans with the most current country hits, adding a Texas-sized dose of flash and flair.

Also performing at the Cantina will be Arizona’s original and best hair band rock show, METALHEADS, who will entertain fans on Saturday from 7 – 8:30 p.m. The group of four have been performing across the state since 2003 and will be returning to PIR for the second-straight year.
