Bobby Earnhardt will be making his return to the track in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Kansas Speedway kicking off a four-race run to end the season. Earnhardt, eldest grandson of Dale Earnhardt SR, will pilot the No. 66 Toyota for MBM Motorsports in the October running of the Kansas Lottery 300.
The race at the 1.5-mile speedway will also kick-off a run at the remaining races on the Xfinity Series 2019 schedule with an eye on competing fulltime in 2020. Earnhardt, who is a former Rookie of the year in the ARCA Racing Truck Series, ran several events in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and the Xfinity season. Earnhardt credits the 2019 opportunity to hard work and sponsors such as CIA and HABCO.
“CIA, Copeland Insurance, and HABCO, Inc. are a couple of my great sponsors and friends that are making it possible for me to run these last four races – it’s tough out there – finding sponsorship,” Earnhardt said about the work Earnhardt – Shearer Racing has done seeking partners. “With CIA and HABCO on board, we’re able to race Kansas, Texas, Phoenix Raceway, and finish off the season at Homestead.”
Earnhardt says some big news is coming soon but could not elaborate.
“Yea, we have some announcements coming in a few days. Big fun stuff that I can’t really talk about yet. But it’s all about people jumping in to help out.”
Earnhardt is also keenly aware of the expectations put on his family due to his familiar last name. However, he says it’s all about making your own way and doing the best you can.
“As an Earnhardt, I was raised to work hard for what I want to do. Get in there and work – that’s the way my grandfather and great grandfather did things and they passed that attitude along.”
