NXS: Christopher Bell Claims U.S. Cellular 250 Pole

Christopher Bell will start on the pole at Iowa Speedway for the U.S. Cellular 250 on Saturday. Bell, piloting the No. 20 Rheem Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, claimed the top starting spot with a 23.710 / 132.855 mph.

The driver from Oklahoma will go into the evening looking to score his sixth win of the year in the XFINITY Series. Bell, through 18 races this year, has 11 top five and 12 top 10 finishes.

Chase Briscoe will start along side Bell in the No. 98 Ford Performance Ford. Briscoe posted a 23.896 / 132.855 mph. on his first lap to secure the second starting spot for Saturday’s event.

Brandon Jones rounded out the top three in qualifying. Jones, piloting the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, posted a 23.785 / 132.436 mph. on his second of two laps.

Riley Herbst and Justin Allgaier rounded out the top five.

Starting inside the top 10 will be Cole Custer, Shane Lee, Austin Cindric, Michael Annett and Ryan Sieg.

Mark Meunier will be the lone DNQ after spinning off turn four in qualifying.

Ryan Repko had a problem firing his engine and was placed on NASCAR’s five-minute clock. Repko and his crew were not able to fire the car in time and will start 38th on the leaderboard.
