Flat Right Rear Tire Relegates Tyler Reddick to 15th-Place Finish at Iowa Speedway

“That was obviously not the weekend we were expecting with our No. 2 TAME the BEAST Chevrolet Camaro. Our balance was a little off in practice so we made some wholesale changes to it, but with final practice getting cancelled due to weather we didn’t know what we’d have for the race. Turns out it wasn’t too bad, we were just lacking some rear grip to start. Unfortunately, my right rear tire went flat on the restart with a four laps to go in Stage 1. We tried to stay out until the end of the stage but had to pit to avoid any major damage. It’s never fun to have a car running lap times consistent with the leaders but be trapped laps down. We tried everything we could to roll the dice on our strategy in hopes that a caution would fall at the right time, but one never did. I’m bummed for my team and everyone back at RCR that the streak we were on had to end, but I know we’ll get right back after it at Chicagoland Speedway in a couple weeks. That’s one of my favorite tracks, and we can definitely contend for the win there.”
