JD Motorsports with Gary Keller (JDM) is proud to announce that Asheville, NC native Stephen Leicht will drive the No. 01 Chevrolet Camaro SS full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). The 2019 NXS season will be the first full time season for Leicht since 2007.
He was quoted saying “I’m super stoked about my opportunity to drive for Johnny Davis. He has competitive cars with smart people in his stable and I’m looking forward to seeing what the season brings.”
Leicht, who was the 2012 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year, comes into the season with career highlights including one win, three Top 5’s, and sixteen Top 10 finishes. His first career win came at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky, during the 2007 Meijer 300. He currently has 99 starts in the series, with his 100th start coming later this month at Daytona along with fellow JDM driver, Garrett Smithley.
