-On Friday, October 19th, Gallagher addressed the media at Kansas Speedway that he will be retiring from driving after the 2018 season concludes.

“This is pretty much what happened. I knew we had lost front downforce in our Allegiant Chevrolet after the first incident. I thought we were going to be able to salvage an alright day out of that but obviously that is not what we want for our GMS guys here at the track and back home. They make great cars and I hate to tear one up. I just want to thank all of my guys for their hard work this weekend and I wish we had a better day.”
