NXS: Kyle Larson wins Overton’s 300

Kyle Larson came from the back of the pack to the front to win Saturday’s Overton’s 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

After winning the pole, Larson would have to start from the back of the pack due to an unapproved tire change.

Driver NO. 42 outlasted Kevin Harvick as well as Xfinity Series regulars Cole Custer and Daniel Hemric. Saturday marked Larson’s tenth career victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race and the second of the season. Larson’s other win of 2018 came at Las Vegas.

Kyle Larson also won Stage 2 after making a three wide pass for the lead with 19 laps to go in the stage. Xfinity Series regular, Tyler Reddick won Stage 1, driver NO. 9’s first stage victory in the Xfinity Series.

Reddick would exit the race early after making heavy contact with Ryan Reed on Lap 98.

Drivers was faced with the heat and humid temperatures on a miserably hot day in Chicago.

NASCAR Xfinity Series cup regular Cole Custer took over the points lead after Saturday’s race. 

Elliott Sadler who has held the points lead thus far finished sixth. Driver NO. 1 is currently thirs in the points standings behind Cole Custer and Daniel Hemric.
