Gase Heads Home to Where His Career Began in Iowa Speedway

Gase & Go Green Racing will load up and head to Gase’s home track in Iowa Speedway. At the track Gase will be sporting the Iowa Donor Network logo on his hood and two honorees. One being his mother, Mary Gase, who helped save and improve the lives of 66 people by being a organ, eye, and tissue donor, along side Cooper Vozza. Cooper is a kidney recipient and to make the story even more amazing he received this precious gift from his uncle who became a living donor to save Cooper’s life. Cooper and his family, including his uncle, will join Gase & the team at the track on Sunday watching the race from the teams pit box.

This Saturday will be Gase’s 14th start at Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Joey made his NASCAR XFINITY Series (then named the Nationwide Series) debut at his home track back in 2011 driving for Archie St. Hilaire. In his debut, he gained 14 spots and tallied his first career top 20 finish coming in 20th in front of his hometown crowd. Not only did Joey make his first XFINITY start at Iowa, but Joey has been racing at the Iowa Speedway since he was 15 years old.  He’s been racing late models at the track since his teenage years giving him a slight edge on the competition with experience. “I’m always excited to get back home where my NASCAR career started,” said Gase. “It’s always special when I can have all my family and friends come out to the track and have the hometown support.”

Haulers enter the track on Friday evening. Practice for the Iowa 250 begins Saturday afternoon at 3:05pm ET on FS2. Gase and team will look to bounce back strong in front of his hometown crowd.

The Iowa 250 can be seen live on Sunday, June 17th on FS1. Race coverage will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET. You can also listen in live on MRN Radio, as well as SiriusXM Radio, channel 90.
