Donnie Neuenberger brings home 23rd Place Finish

After a long off season, and a few late nights in the race shop, the MacDonald Motorsports hauler pulled into Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, February 6th. With Donnie Neuenberger behind the wheel and Eagle Convenience Stores on the car, the team had high hopes for a strong run to kick off the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Season.

Needing to qualify on time, the MacDonald Motorsports team needed to put a fast race car under Donnie and they did just that. The Eagle Convenience Stores No. 81 slotted into the grid in 33rd position, ready for the race on Saturday.

Donnie did an excellent job maneuvering around the wrecks throughout the race. He didn’t put one scratch on the Eagle Convenience Stores Dodge during the 300 miles. The No. 81 didn’t have the speed of the front runners, but was still able to finish in an impressive 23rd place. After eliminating the full-time Sprint Cup drivers from the standings, Donnie and the MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 sit 14th in the standings.

Next week, the No. 81 MacDonald Motorsports Dodge Challenger will travel west to Phoenix International Raceway for the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200. The race will air live on ESPN2 at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
