No. 81 QuickTie Toyota GR Supra News and Notes:
- SMITH AT MARTINSVILLE: Chandler Smith has five races under his belt at Martinsville Speedway – three NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) races and two NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races. In the Xfinity Series race earlier this year, Smith overcame starting at the rear of the field after hitting the wall in practice to finish third in the race. He finished in the top-10 in both of his Truck Series races.
- NXS PLAYOFFS: Going into the final race of the Round of 8, Smith sits fifth in the driver playoffs standings – 28 points below the cutline.
- QUICKTIE: Quick Tie Products, Inc., (“QuickTie”) manufactures and distributes the QuickTie™ System, a proprietary, patented hold down system for high wind and seismic construction. The QuickTie™ System comprises wire rope cables with threaded rod studs swaged to each end, each with a steel bearing plate on the top end. Their cables are designed to cinch walls to their foundations from the uppermost top plates, thereby effectively resisting roof uplift and building overturning pressures. QuickTie also manufactures hangers, hold downs, plywood clips and all structural building components.
- ON THE PITBOX: Crew Chief of the No. 81, JeffMeendering has visited Victory Lane 10 times as a NXS crew chief, most recently with Smith at Richmond in March 2024. His teams have collected 74 top-five finishes, 145 top-10 finishes, and 15 pole positions under his leadership.
- JGR AT MARTINSVILLE: Joe Gibbs Racing owns five Xfinity Series victories at Martinsville Speedway, including Aric Almirola’s win this spring. Since the track rejoined the Xfinity Series schedule in 2020, JGR has won five of eight races with five different drivers. In 29 combined starts at the .526-mile oval, the organization has tallied 13 top-five finishes, 21 top-10s, three pole awards, and 1,224 laps led. A JGR driver has led at least 100 laps in the past five Martinsville races dating back to April 2022. Harrison Burton, Ty Gibbs, Brandon Jones, and John Hunter Nemechek join Almirola on the list of drivers who have wheeled JGR Toyota GR Supras to victory lane at the track.

From the Driver’s Seat:
Chandler Smith: “We’re going into Martinsville basically needing to win. I feel really confident in our car for the weekend. JGR always competes for wins in this race and based on how we ran in the spring, I think we have a team and a car that is capable of winning to get us into the Championship 4.”
