NASCAR announced penalties Wednesday involving three teams that compete in its XFINITY Series.

NASCAR fined the Nos. 27, 28, and 45 XFINITY Series teams for violating sections 14.4.A: Body; 14.4.11.C&D: Rear bumper covers of the NASCAR rule book.

Each team and driver has been assessed with a loss of 20 points and five NASCAR Playoff points. Crew chiefs Shane Whitbeck, Joseph Williams, and Kase Kallenbach have each been fined $25,000.
