Wallace Finishes 36th at Bristol

A successful practice and qualifying effort remain unavenged after Saturday’s  Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway was cut short for RAB Racing with Brack Maggard and driver Kenny Wallace. A piece of debris on the track was all that stood in the way of RAB Racing and potentially their highest finishing position of the season. After cutting the right front tire on Lap 137, the No. 09 was unable to complete the race and was relegated to a 36th place finishing position.

Returning to one of his favorite tracks, Wallace put down the 2nd fastest practice speed, only .002 seconds off the leader. A 4th place starting position reaffirmed the quality of their equipment. This momentum carried over into the race and Wallace wasted no time powering the No. 09 to the third position by Lap 15. He held his position in the front of the field for the first half of the race saying that the car was exactly how he liked it.

On Lap 137, the No. 09 Federated Auto Parts Toyota Camry ran over a piece of debris on the front straightaway, blowing the right front tire and sending the car into the wall. The crew worked tirelessly to remedy the issue, but had to take the car to the garage. Wallace ended the night in 36th position.

RAB Racing and Wallace are optimistic about their upcoming races. Wallace remains at 7th in the driver points standings while the No. 09, owned by Robby Benton, is currently 13th in the NNS owner point standings.
