Wallace Takes 16th at Michigan

Returning to the site of RAB Racing’s first NASCAR Nationwide Series win, the team was accustomed to success at Montreal. This spirit allowed Kenny Wallace to recover confidently after being spun midway through the NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Saturday. RAB Racing and Kenny Wallace left Montreal with a 16th place finishing position after the second consecutive week of road course racing. This is Wallace’s 20th Top-20 finish in 24 races this season.

Wallace qualified 24th but quickly drove the No. 09 Toyota Racing Toyota Camry through the field to 7th by Lap 16. After two pit stops in four laps, Wallace returned to the track in 29th position. By the halfway point of the NAPA Auto Parts 200, Wallace had powered to 12th. But the good fortune wouldn’t last as a competitor caused Wallace to spin, knocking him back to 24th. Wallace, strong on the long runs, capitalized on a string of green flag laps and ended the race in 16th.

With only ten events left this season on the Nationwide schedule, Wallace holds steady at 7th in points. The No. 09 remains at 13th in owners points.

After a summer trend of Top 10’s, the team is confident heading back to the ovals this weekend.
