Kwasniewski Finishes 21st in Dover

The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) made its second and final stop of the 2014 season at Dover International Speedway for the Dover 200 on Saturday afternoon. Dylan Kwasniewski and his No. 31 Rockstar Energy Drink team were looking for redemption and a solid finish in the young rookie’s second NNS start at the one-mile short track. After working on finding speed in both practice sessions on Friday afternoon, Kwasniewski qualified 17th in NASCAR’s knockout qualifying on Saturday morning. After fighting a tight racecar throughout the majority of the race, Kwasniewski crossed the finish line in the 21st position for Turner Scott Motorsports

Following the drop of the green flag, Kwasniewski survived an early caution on lap 10 and settled into the top 20 for a long green-flag run to start the race. On lap 20, while running in 18th, Kwasniewski reported to crew chief Shannon Rursch that his Rockstar Energy Drink Chevy was tight when exiting the corners. Continuing to battle a tight racecar, Kwasniewski was scored in the 19th position when the second caution of the day came out on lap 41. During the caution, Rursch called Kwasniewski down pit road for four tires, fuel and a track-bar adjustment to help loosen up the Rockstar Energy Drink Chevy. Restarting 15th on lap 47, Kwasniewski remained in the top 20 until the third caution came out on lap 97. During the caution, Rursch again called Kwasniewski down pit road for four tires, fuel and another big adjustment to help with the tight condition. Following the restart on lap 104, Kwasniewski survived a long green-flag run and one more caution, ultimately coming home in the 21st position

Dylan Kwasniewski on his run at Dover:

Today was a pretty frustrating day for this Rockstar Energy Drink team. We struggled with the setup all weekend and never did get it exactly where we wanted it; however, my guys showed a lot of grit and never gave up. We will put this one behind us and move on to Kansas next weekend.
