The NASCAR Nationwide Series will make its 20th stop on the tour Saturday at the Iowa Speedway for the U.S. Cellular 250. This will be the second of two scheduled events this season for the series at the 0.875-mile oval. Brad Keselowski, which is also entered to drive the No. 22 this weekend, comes into the race as the defending race winner.
A total of 40 drivers are on the entry list, which means none of those will be going home. Some of these drivers include: Josh Berry, Michael McDowell, Brad Keselowski, Carl Long, Kenny Wallace, Chase Pistone, Hal Martin, Matt Frahm, John Jackson, Chad Boat, Josh Reaume, and Morgan Shepered.
Last weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, one driver of Ty Dillon found his first career win in the series. Dillon started the Lilly Diabetes 250 from the third position and led a total of 47 laps. He has yet to capture a victory at Iowa, but has come close in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Back in May, which he made his first start at Iowa in a Nationwide Series car, Dillon drove to a eighth-place finish. He hopes the track will be nice enough to give him a win and the final Dash 4 Cash prize.
Josh Berry, who is a late model driver and met Nationwide Series team owner, Dale Earnhardt Jr. on IRacing, will be making his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut on Saturday. Berry worked with the team at the Iowa Speedway back in May where he served as a spotter for Regan Smith. He also traveled to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last weekend where he got advice from Kevin Harvick. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how he will do in his debut.
Trevor Bayne hopes the Iowa Speedway will be kind to him and give him his third career victory in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The 0.875-mile oval gave the 23-year-old his second career win last year in June. He hopes a solid finish tonight can better his current average finish of 12.7.
