Viva Motorsports Blue Jeans Go Green 200 Post Race Report

A messy ending to a promising weekend sums up the Blue Jeans Go Green 200 for driver Jamie Dick in the No. 55 Viva Auto Group Chevrolet. Starting at the rear of the field is tough anywhere, especially at the short tracks, such as the Phoenix International Raceway. After taking advantage of an early caution on lap 18, Dick stayed out to gain track position.  It was short lived after contact with the 52 car sent Dick into the 26th position.  Jamie Dick came in for a green flag stop on lap 83 for tires, fuel, and chassis adjustments.  Once back on track Dick was poised to charge to the front, getting as high as 23rd before the motor expired.

“It’s a huge bummer to end a race like this with a blown motor,” said Jamie Dick. “We came into the race with the mindset that the car would be better on the longer runs.  During our first stop the crew made a few minor adjustments to chase the weather, which helped me gain more grip off the corners. That’s just part of racing, our team will rebound and get ready for Las Vegas next weekend.”
