NNS: Race Preview Kansas

This weekend the NASCAR Nationwide Series will move on to the Kansas Speedway for the 13th Annual Kansas Lottery 300. The entry list currently features 42 unique drivers who will try and make their way into the race on Saturday afternoon. Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. is the defending race winner.

The entry list features some interesting drivers this weekend include, Landon Cassill, Chase Miller, Chris Buescher, Matt Kenseth, Dakota Armstrong, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Ken Butler, Paul Menard, James Buescher, Hal Martin, J.J. Yeley, Danny Efland, and Bryan Silas.

Eleven drivers will battle to get into the race this weekend since two will be going home after qualifying. These drivers include, Blake Koch, Chase Miller, Chris Buescher, Matt Kenseth, Dakota Armstrong, James Buescher, Ryan Sieg, Josh Wise, J.J. Yeley, Joey Gase, and Mike Harmon.

Points leader Sam Hornish, Jr. goes into this weekends race four points ahead of second place Austin Dillon. Hornish has to start grabbing good finishes starting this weekend if he wants to contend for the championship.

The Penske dominance continues strong this weekend as they’re running for a owners championship. The team currently leads the owners standings by 28 total points over Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 54.

Last season Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. took the win at the Kansas Speedway by leading a total of 25 of the 206 laps that made up the distance. Trevor Bayne goes into the weekend looking for the teams second win of the season. His last victory came at the Iowa Speedway in June.
