Bucky Covington To Perform At Food City Race Night; Dirty Guv'nahs To Sing Prior To Jeff Byrd 500

Country music’s Bucky Covington will take to the stage Friday night at Food City Race Night for a free concert while The Dirty Guv’nahs will perform Sunday, prior to the start of the Jeff Byrd 500 Presented by Food City at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Covington, a former American Idol contestant, had three hit singles on the Hot Country Songs charts from his 2007 self-title debut album, “A Different World,” “It’s Good To Be Us,” and “I’ll Walk.”  Three other singles, “I Want My Life Back,”, “Gotta Be Somebody,” and “A Father’s Love” will be featured on his second album, “I’m Alright,” due out next month.

Covington will take to the stage in the hospitality area at Food City Race Night at 8 p.m. and play for approximately one hour.

The Dirty Guv’nahs, voted Knoxville’s best band three years in a row by Metro Pulse Readers Poll, have showcased their sound at Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, Musikfest, Bele Chere, and Sundown in the City and also have opened for the Zac Brown Band, Levon Helm Band, Blues Traveler, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Robert Earl Keen, Drive by Truckers, The Whigs, Band of Skulls, Cross Canadian Ragweed,Cracker and Sister Hazel.

The Dirty Guv’nahs will perform from the Speedway’s Victory Lane Sunday morning.
