Richmond Raceway Welcomes the Virginia Lottery Neighborhood to the Modernized Infield

Richmond Raceway (Richmond) and Virginia Lottery announce a partnership for exclusive naming rights to the Virginia Lottery Neighborhood in the DC Solar FanGrounds. The modernized infield will make its spring debut as part of Richmond Raceway Reimagined (Reimagined), the track’s $30 million infield redevelopment project. The new neighborhood will bring the excitement and support of Virginian’s love of games to the modernized infield at Richmond.

“The Virginia Lottery is committed to fun and games, so they are a great partner to join the modernized infield to add even more to the iconic Richmond fan experience,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “The Virginia Lottery Neighborhood is going to fit perfectly with our loyal race fans love of games as part of the spring debut of the FanGrounds.”

The Virginia Lottery Neighborhood will be located at the middle shade structure in the heart of the frontstretch and will stand out with colorful branding with picnic tables, televisions, and views of pit road. There will also be exclusive fan engagements in the Virginia Lottery Neighborhood.

“The most exciting part about our expanded sponsorship with Richmond Raceway is that fans will have the chance to test out the Lottery’s brand-new MobilePlay, which officially launches this summer,” said Virginia Lottery Executive Director Kevin Hall. “This will be a whole new way to play in addition to many convenient customer features within the Virginia Lottery app for your mobile device. Not only will you be able to purchase tickets for all your favorite draw games like Mega Millions and Pick 3, but we’re introducing a whole new line of e-games available only through MobilePlay. Much like our Raceway partners, the Virginia Lottery is always looking for new and creative ways to make the customer experience easier and more enjoyable.”

“We look forward to Richmond Raceway becoming a MobilePlay retailer when the offering is available this summer,” said Bickmeier. “This will allow us to further expand our long-standing partnership by helping the Virginia Lottery with its mission to raise revenue for Virginia’s public schools and provide a great experience to the thousands of fans we host annually.”

The Virginia Lottery will also help fans connect online as the sponsor of the public WiFi in the modernized infield, Expo Hall, and Virginia Credit Union LIVE! at Richmond Raceway. The public WiFi will be available for fans throughout the year for events at the Richmond Raceway Complex. To see the 2019 concert schedule at Virginia Credit Union LIVE!, visit vaculive.com.

For over 30 years the Virginia Lottery has been working and playing together, building an organization committed to growing and giving back – and having fun while doing it. Operaring enterily on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates approximately $1.6 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools.

With Lottery games including Mega Millions, Powerball, Bank a Million, Cash4Life®, Raffle, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Cash 5, Virginians are bound to find a game they love. The Virginia Lottery also has a variety of Scratchers and Print ‘n Play Games to add to the fun. Players can also enter promotions and play interactive games online at valottery.com for more chances to win.

The FanGrounds will make its spring debut over the Toyota Spring Race Weekend on April 12-13. The modernized infield was part of Richmond Raceway Reimagined, a $30 million redevelopment project bringing new attractions and state of the art fan-based attractions to the DC Solar FanGrounds, allowing race fans to get closer than ever to NASCAR’s best with new Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garages and a fan-viewing walkway to provide full immersion into the sport.

Additional FanGrounds attractions previously announced include the M&M’s Neighborhood, Markel Entertainment Plaza, Virginia Tourism Corporation “Virginia is for Racing Lovers” Neighborhood, Eternal Fan Pedestrian Tunnel and Fan Memories program, and the all-new Gatorade Victory Lane, which provide fans the opportunity to be a part of the post-race celebrations, along with activities before the race, with driver appearances, and one-of-a-kind immersive pre-race ceremonies.

Fans with a race ticket to the Toyota Spring Race Weekend, can purchase FanGrounds passes for the spring debut of the modernized infield with one-day ($70) and two-day ($125) tickets available for purchase online at richmondraceway.com, by calling 866-455-7223 or visiting the Richmond Ticket Office.
