Matt DiBenedetto Visits Virginia Beach in Advance of the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 at Richmond Raceway

Richmond Raceway (Richmond) hosted Matt DiBenedetto, driver of the No. 95 Toyota Camry for Leavine Family Racing, at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach, Va. on Thursday to promote the upcoming TOYOTA OWNERS 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. DiBenedetto also visited Charles Barker Toyota to show his appreciation to Toyota owners and fans as well as Toyota employees.

DiBenedetto started his day at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center where he met some new friends with the aquarium’s group of harbor seals, Hector, Piper, and Rudder. Virginia Aquarium staff showed DiBenedetto the extensive training each seal goes through. DiBenedetto was able to get up close and personal to pet the seals and even got a kiss. Lastly, DiBenedetto received a special gift from Piper who painted a canvas with his favorite color.

DiBenedetto ended his day at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center being the “Volunteer for a Day” in the Chesapeake Bay Aquarium Touch Pool. Outfitted in a volunteer shirt, hat, and “Volunteer in Training” badge, he assisted groups of school children and families handle horseshoe crabs and other animals who live in the touch pool. DiBenedetto’s last stop was The Adventure Park, which is a full ropes course in the trees near the aquarium. He was fitted with a harness to climb a portion of the course to see the views as jets from nearby Naval Air Station Oceana flew overhead.

“It was fun promoting the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 in Virginia Beach, especially now that I’m back with Toyota Racing,” said Matt DiBenedetto, driver of the No. 95 Toyota Camry for Leavine Family Racing. “Richmond is obviously a short track, and it’s one of my favorite places to go on the circuit. The Toyota Spring Race Weekend has a lot going on with a lot of great events for the fans. I can’t wait to get to Richmond for the TOYOTA OWNERS 400.”

DiBenedetto’s final stop was a meet and greet with fans and staff at Charles Barker Toyota in Virginia Beach. He signed autographs and took pictures with a group of fans who made the trip to meet their favorite driver. He also went through the service department to meet with employees and sign autographs. DiBenedetto ended his time at the dealership by taking photos with Richmond Raceway’s Toyota Camry pace car with Toyota employees.

DiBenedetto will return to Virginia for the Toyota Spring Race Weekend at Richmond on April 12-13. For more information and tickets, visit richmondraceway.com. For more information on Richmond Raceway Military Appreciation Program presented by Dominion Energy, visit richmondraceway.com/military.
