Homestead-Miami Speedway’s Stan Lash Named NASCAR’s Nursing Director of the Year

Homestead-Miami Speedway’s Nursing Director Stan Lash was honored for his exemplary efforts during the 2018 season at the 19th annual NASCAR Safety and Operations Summit presented by American Medical Response earlier this week.

Lash was named the 2018 Nursing Director of the Year for his service during Ford Championship Weekend. Lash has been working for the Speedway since its grand opening in 1995, and his involvement in motorsports dates back to the Grand Prix of Miami, which was organized by the Speedway’s founder, Ralph Sanchez, and run in the streets of downtown Miami.

“Stan has been an integral part of our team since the Speedway opened and the accolades he received are a true testament to his hard work and dedication to our industry,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer. “We are thankful for Stan’s service over the years and we look forward to him continuing to keep everyone at the track safe and healthy during Ford Championship Weekend.”

The three-day conference, held in Concord, North Carolina, featured numerous presentations and small-group seminars that addressed best practices in the safety, track services, medical and security functional areas.
