NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Returns to Memphis in 2019

For the third year in a row, the rising stars of NASCAR will race at Memphis International Raceway (MIR). The NASCAR K&N Pro Series 150, presented by AutoZone, will be held on Saturday, June 1.

NASCAR K&N Pro Series is a proving ground where drivers such as Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and Daniel Suarez were able to showcase their talent before breaking through to the national series. In 2018, Ruben Garcia Jr. scored his breakout win at MIR in the Memphis 150, presented by AutoZone, on his way to a third-place finish in the championship standings.

NASCAR’s 2019 return to Memphis is important for the economies of the Memphis and Millington areas, with fans traveling from all over the Mid-South to attend. The 2019 race will be broadcast on NBCSN.

“We are looking forward to the NASCAR K&N East Pro Series returning to Memphis,” said Tim Packman, president of MIR. “The commitment NASCAR has shown to keep our track on this schedule is a testament for both our futures.”

“The up-and-coming drivers of this series make for exciting racing. They are trying to showcase their talents and our three-quarter mile oval makes for great racing. Memphis is an ideal track for them.”

“Business leaders and fans have been asking when this NASCAR race was coming back. Now, we can tell them to get ready for our event on June 1.”

NASCAR and MIR’s history dates to 1998 when the MIR Oval hosted its first-ever NASCAR race, the NASCAR Truck Series Memphis 200, before a sold-out crowd and a national television audience.
