Motorcycle Racing Comes Back To Terre Haute IN This Saturday

Racing of the 2-wheel variety returns for the first time in many years to the Terre Haute Action Track, on Saturday, June 23. The 2018 schedule expanded to ten events and one of the new ones was for the AMA All-Star National Flat Track Series, with the event presented by Cannonball Harley Davidson.

Eight different classes of motorcycles will pace the ½-mile oval. Fans will see action from the Expert/Pro Twins, Expert/Pro Singles, Super Singles, 250 Amateur, 450 Amateur, Open Singles Amateur, Senior 40+, and Open Vintage (1980 & Older).

Drivers and fans alike are looking forward to the return to the Action Track, as it’s been many years since the last event was held for the 2-wheel racers. There have been a couple of private test sessions held the last two seasons and racers spoke highly of the surface and hoped an actual race would return. Everyone received their wishes when the new schedule came out.

Excitement leading up to the event has been high and two pre-race parties are scheduled. The first will be on Friday night, June 22 at Thompson Motorsports from 5:00-9:00 PM. Food and beer garden will be provided by Show-Mes with live music from Mullet Over and Lemon Brothers. There will be chances to win race tickets in addition to 25% off street riding gear. Thompson’s Motorsports is located at 250 W Honey Creek Parkway, in Terre Haute, IN.

Saturday’s race day party will take place at Cannonball Harley Davidson, the presenting sponsor of the race. The party will take place from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. There will be a live DJ, in-store promotions, and much more. Cannonball Harley Davidson is located at 3912 S US Highway 41 in Terre Haute, IN.

At the track, pits will open on Saturday, June 23 at 2:00, grandstands at 4:00 when practice begins, and racing will take the green at 7:00. Grandstand pricing is $15, infield $10, and kids 11 and under will be free.
