Rainy Weather Forecast Forces Grandview To Cancel Saturday Night Stock Car Racing

The Grandview against Ma Nature weather battle continued on Saturday. Grandview lost this time as the forecast for wild weather forced cancellation of the Saturday night show of NASCAR stock car racing. The weather battle score now stands at four wins for Grandview, including the practice session that opened the season, and three wins for Ma Nature.

The battle continues with a four division card of auto racing set for Saturday, May 19th starting at 7:30 p.m. Included in the big night of action, with no increase in admission prices, will be the NASCAR T.P. Trailers 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Late Model stock cars. As an added attraction the popular Blast from the Past Vintage Racers will be in action giving fans the opportunity to see race cars from the past racing around the one-third-mile, banked clay oval.

Whelen Engineering, a longtime supporter of NASCAR racing, will be sponsoring the night of auto racing excitement.

More than a dozen events of racing will be presented with the adult admission price set at $15 and youngsters under 12 being admitted FREE. And there is always free parking available on the speedway grounds.

Grandview Speedway will be looking to increase their lead over Ma Nature when spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Coming up on Saturday, May 26th will be a tripleheader show of NASCAR stock car racing featuring the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Late Models.

And as the second part of the Memorial Day weekend action at Grandview the first Thunder on the Hill Racing Series events will be presented on Sunday, May 27th with the 21st Annual Traffic Jam Big Block/Small Block Modifieds topping the show. Also included will be the Sportsman stock cars along with the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
