City of Avondale officials today helped Phoenix Raceway celebrate an important milestone for its Phoenix Raceway Project Powered by DC Solar by delivering the first four truckloads of steel that will be used to construct the grandstand addition.
The vehicles were led by an escort from the Avondale Police Department and the official Phoenix Raceway Toyota Camry promotional car as part of a special parade down Avondale Boulevard.
City of Avondale officials and loyal Phoenix Raceway ticket holders accompanied members of the Okland Construction team (builder for the project) riding in the four trucks that carried the steel to the project site outside of the famous dogleg.
These four trucks, carrying 40,000 pounds of steel each, are the first of 100 total trucks that will transport the steel throughout the project.
