After a busy two-day weekend of the popular Evergreen Drift presented by Sinister Drift, Evergreen Raceway will now focus on stock car activities over the coming weeks and starting with this Sunday afternoon, September 29.
It will be an action packed day for sure as the 602 Crate Modifieds will be running their final point race of the season and the top four drivers are within 15 points of each other in the quest for this year title.
Heading into Sunday’s showdown Steve Shultz has a one point edge over Brian Rygielski Jr., while only eight points out of first sits Micah Adams with Jayden Harman lurking a mere 15 markers back in fourth spot. With such a tight battle rest assured that every finishing spot in heats and feature will play a key outcome as to who will be crowned the 2024 class champion.
Also hitting the track will be the Harry’s U-Pull-It Street Stocks who likewise will have their final point’s feature of the season. Two-time and defending champ Mike Pollack has led the standings throughout the year. But, Gordie Buchman is riding in a close second spot and poised to make a run at unseating Pollack for this year championship honors.
The DW Machine & Fabricating Late Models will be on Sunday’s race ticket in a feature sponsored by sponsored Swagman Promos, Inc., of East Stroudsburg and NAPA North East Parts Group.
The day of pavement racing will also include the Himmer Graphics Four Cylinders, Rotten-and-Forgotten and the JuiceBox Division.
It is also Fairway Chevrolet Day at the raceway. All employees of the Hazleton area dealership will be admitted for free at the main grandstand.
Pit gates open at 10:30 am. Pit admission is $40 per person. Warm-ups will begin at 12:30 pm with heats starting at 2:00 pm. The main grandstands open at noon. Adult admission is $12, kids 12 and under are free.
Evergreen Raceway’s 2-Seater Ride-along returns on Saturday, October 5, from noon to 3:00 pm and this time around not only will fans once again get to be high-speed passengers but now if they choose they can actually drive the cars themselves.
