Following significant rainfall during a line of storms mid-afternoon, and with more rain showers on the radar screen to follow for the next several hours leading up to race time Saturday evening, track management had to once again cancel the planned race events for this week at Grandview Speedway.
The mid and late day precipitation left the speedway facility very wet, and with no drying weather expected right after the rain moved through, it would not have allowed the track crew a chance to be able to prepare the track in a timely manner for the evening’s race program.
On Saturday night the race program was to be a triple-header of NASCAR stock car racing featuring the T.P. Trailer Modifieds, T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, and the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars.
The Saturday night rain postponement was the seventh of the current race season. After losing four in the early part of 2024, Grandview Speedway was able to reel off nine consecutive programs midsummer until encountering more foul weather of late, with this being the third rain out in the last six weeks.
With the rain out, Grandview Speedway will look ahead to next weekend and present another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman in the final point race event of the 2024 racing season.
The Championship Points Finale sponsored by Spunktown Tavern and Restaurant on Saturday, September 14 will include qualifying events for both divisions leading into a 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.
Pit gates will open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.
Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
Spunktown Tavern and Restaurant of Boyertown, Pa. will be sponsoring Championship night, and will be giving away many prizes including 300 can koozies for the adults, and 300 frisbees for the kids at the main gate and the Meet and Greet where the Spunktown Tavern and Restaurant sponsored Modified of Justin Grim will be participating. Saturday night will also feature the final Trivia night of the season, where fans can win prizes, including Spunktown Tavern and Restaurant gift certificates, after answering questions about Grandview Speedway racing. All the Trivia nights have been well received by race fans and have been a lot of fun for all!
The racing next weekend will actually kick off on Friday, September 13 and will feature the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Slingshots starting at 7 pm. Pit gates open at 2 pm., with Grandstand gates open at 5 pm.
